Didn’t we just crown Jinkx Monsoon a week ago? It seems like it. Yet, here we are again, and it’s almost time to see who will win the season 6 crown. I have some thoughts….
*SPOILER AHEAD* Especially if you haven’t seen this week’s episode.
First of all, I’m a little, okay, I’m a lot pissed Darienne Lake did not make the top 3. Yep, I’m digging right in. Just once, I want to see a big girl make it to the finale. Latrice Royale was almost there in season 4; she did win ‘Miss Congeniality’. I’ll get to who has a shot at that in a little bit. Anyway, I think we’ll all swim in the deep waters of Darienne Lake again.
Overall, it’s been a really good season. Let’s take a look at the contenders for the crown. At this point, if you’ve been watching, you probably think you know who’s going to win. However, I think this may be more of a sprint to the finish than everyone thinks. So…
Courtney Act is already a superstar. Well, she is in her native land of Australia. Out of the three finalists, Courtney is middle of the pack for me. Is she talented beyond compare? Yes. Is she fishy as hell? Yes. I never thought Courtney was “resting on pretty” as Michelle Visage stated on the runway this season. If there’s one thing gals and guys love, it’s a queen with a body of death. If Courtney has a flaw, it’s being too confident. At this point, I see her as the runner-up and when another All-Stars season rolls around, she’ll be back for sure. Moving on.
Adore Delano has been the biggest surprise this season. Who would have thought little Danny Noriega from ‘American Idol’ had the goods to make the finals. Did I necessarily think she would be gone early? Not so much, but if I would have put Darienne in the finals instead. No Shade! However, Adore’s tenacity and fuck you attitude have made her a viable competitor and a future superstar. Above all, she has proven a non-seamstress can claw her way to the end. I never thought I would see it happen. She’s rough around the edges, but can she snatch the crown? Well…
I suppose they will be riots everywhere if Bianca Del Rio doesn’t win. From the get go, there have been rumors that she did indeed make the finale. Who cares? Bianca is one of the best queens I have ever seen! Okay, the eyes can be a bit much, but she is fierce and she is also funny as hell. The comedic mind is rare; someone who can come up with a one-liner in a millisecond is a crazy genius. She and Adore have won three challenges each this season. Again, I’m shocked at how well Adore has done. This is why I’m not so sure Bianca is the clear-cut winner. Interesting fact, I have a good friend who is a drag queen, she performs in NYC, and, she knows Bianca. We haven’t discussed this season, but I know she’s rooting for her. I just think RuPaul is crazy if she doesn’t choose Bianca.
All right, so I’m picking Bianca Del Rio as America’s Next Drag Superstar! And I will cut up somebody’s wigs if she doesn’t. And for Miss Congeniality…
Hell, why not? The coronation airs May 19th on LOGO. Be there hunty!
