The Idol Winner Curse Continues!…Don’t Act Shocked!

Well, to no one’s surprise, and I hope Simon Cowell is included in this group, Kris Allen’s debut CD is not selling well…sales projections for the first week? 80,000 copies…and I hate to say this, but I kind of feel sorry for Allen…he did not get to perform on the American Music Awards, he just presented an award…you blinked and you missed him…and we all know who stole the show and had people talking the next day…once again, in comparison, Adam Lambert’s cd is projected to sell at least 225,000 copies…we knew all along Lambert was the better singer and better performer, but Kris Allen somehow siphoned Adam’s votes in the finale meant for Danny Gokey, who by the way, is releasing a COUNTRY album soon…YIKES!…in other Idol releases, Allison Ireheta’s debut cd hits stores Tuesday and it’s gotten decent reviews…I haven’t really heard anything from it, and I’m still not a fan…sure, she has that smoky, rock and roll voice, but she’s still very young…it will take a while for Ireheta to reach her musical performance peak…in time, she will be really good…however, Kris Allen, I’m not sure what it will take to get him more attention, he’s vanilla and he’s a copycat of other acoustic artists, like Dave Matthews and Jason Mraz…the only type of artist giving Allen hope is John Mayer, his new cd, Battle Studies, is currently at no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 album chart…he even duets with country-pop sensation Taylor Swift on one of the tracks…you have strike while the iron is hot!…
Kris Allen will survive, but for how long?…I still have the same fears about Glambert, his every move is now being heavily scrutinized…he will be on The Ellen DeGeneres Show tomorrow performing, “Whataya Want From Me”…DeGeneres, speaking on her new gig as an Idol judge, said she likes him, but didn’t like him sticking out his tongue when he hit his high notes…I’m sure that will be brought up…I think she’s half-joking, she tends to do that…speaking of Ellen, I’m getting my new pixie haircut tomorrow!…it’s not going to be as funky as Ellen’s, but it will be very different…I’ve NEVER had it cut that short…I will post pictures!
bye.

Support Is Always A Good Thing…

Adam Lambert?…meet one of your biggest supporters, pop icon Boy George…when Lambert’s controversial AMA performance got to George, he immediately went to his Twitter (@theboygeorge) and rallied for Adam…saying things like, “A big snog on the mouth is theatrical not sensual, let’s educate them pleeeese!” and “Dick Clark had it allegedly removed and I guess his sense of humor and proportion.”
Granted, times have changed since Culture Club ruled the charts and really, no one was paying that much attention to whether George was gay or not…what they didn’t know was George was carrying on a secret affair with Culture Club drummer, Jon Moss…and many of the group’s biggest hits paid homage to the relationship…SCANDALOUS!…I think what Adam needs to remember is, no matter what year it is, his sexuality will always be a hot topic and even I have to admit, his racy performance had me doubting if he would ever be taken seriously or if anyone would buy his cd…early sales projections have Glambert selling about 225,000 copies of For Your Entertainment…which is very good…however, Lambert and Lady GaGa will more than likely be outsold by flash in pan British singing sensation, Susan Boyle…I even read Simon Cowell wants to make a biopic of Boyle’s life…really? Simon..really?…I’ve yet to read how Cowell reacted to Adam’s AMA performance…if I had to guess, he would be pleased, it’s all going to make him more money…
As for the cd, it’s really good…music bloggers are all screaming “Whataya Want From Me” should’ve been the first single, and they’re right…it’s a killer song and it’s very poppy…I’m not really a fan of the slower songs on the record…with the exception of “Time for Miracles”…my advice to Glambert would be, keep doing what you’re doing, because you’re good at it…don’t let those pesky double standards get you down…and never compromise your artistic integrity!…
It WILL pay off!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Too Gay, Huh?: The AMA Recap…

Take two!…I was blogging and I decided to insert a video of Carrie Underwood’s horrible performance of “Cowboy Casanova” and POOF!…I erased all of my post!…I’m very angry right now!…thus, I am going with a new plan…hit the highlights!…and yes, we’ll get to Adam Lambert, Lady GaGa, Whitney Houston, Rhianna, and Janet Jackson…in fact, we’ll start with Janet…the ABC promos included this line “8 minutes of Janet Jackson to open the show”…she clocked in at a little over 7…Jackson performed a medley of her biggest hits, slipping in her new single, “Make Me”…there was a lot of old school choreography, which was a thrill…I used to know the “I Miss You Much” routine…LOL!…Paula Abdul presented the first award, Best Pop/Rock Group, to the Black Eyed Peas, other awards in first hour: Best Country Band/Duo/Group-Rascal Flatts, Best Pop/Rock Female-Taylor Swift (absent from the ceremony and she constantly had the “I’m so shocked to win this award” look on her face), Alternative Rock Artist-Green Day… best performance of the hour?…Shakira! Ferosh!

The second hour began with Nicole Kidman and Kate Hudson-who lost her boobs in her dress-introducing their NINE co-star Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas…great performance!…although I was a bit scared when the speakers started dancing during “Boom Boom Pow”…yikes!…also, at the end of the performance, Will.I.Am proclaimed, “Six months No. 1, the new kings!”…?????…all righty then….Michael Jackson, posthumously, won 4 awards, all accepted by brother Jermaine…at one point, Jermaine and sons, Jerfar, Jermajesty, and Jeremy helped accept…get that?…Jackson won two awards that were televised…Best Soul/R&B Male and Best Pop/Rock Male…American Idol winner, Kris Allen was only there to present an award with tweener Demi Lovato…so sad…Rhianna’s performance was freaky and underwhelming…I swear, her outfit was left over from either Lady GaGa or the “Disturbia” video shoot…I guess when Chris Brown beat her abused her, he took the talent out of her too!…okay, since Carrie Underwood destroyed my original post, I will NOT be posting her train wreck of a performance of “Cowboy Casanova”…she was not meant to dance, I’ll just leave it at that…well, all mediocrity was erased by Lady GaGa:

TAKE THAT DICK CLARK!…right after GaGa, her husband, Perez Hilton, did a quick backstage filler…including the joke, “I ran into Derek Hough (DWTS) in the men’s room” (wink!)…oh that Perez!…Mary J. Blige killed it of course…then the biggest shock of the night, besides Adam Lambert, came when the winner of the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist was announced…GaGa was up for it, but country upstart group, Gloriana won?!?…yes, I know Gloriana, I work at a country station, but WTF?…they started their speech by saying “I’m guessing you are wondering who Gloriana is?”…the one person I saw the camera flash to in the audience? Jai Rodriguez…LMAO!… next, the Jennifer Lopez performance of “Louboutins”…and yes, she fell on her ass…I won’t bore you with it, because it wasn’t much and really, she’s not much either…moving on…

Hour three started with Samuel L. Jackson presenting the International Artist of the Year award to, ahem, Whitney Houston…who then attempted to sing “Didn’t Know My Own Strength”…folks, she’s still sweaty and her vocal register is much lower than it used to be…I just don’t know…yes, you can blame drugs, but is seems her confidence is not what it used to be either…so sad…Alicia Keys got to perform solo, after her duet with Jay-Z earlier in the evening (“Empire State of Mind”)…and I didn’t like the solo song or performance…she’s another one who is not a fan of the dance…sitting at a piano?…yes…I had seen Seth Green in the audience several times and I wondered why?…he introduced Eminem and 50 Cent…Em didn’t win anything, but I’m sure he doesn’t care..he has an Oscar for God’s sake!…another underwhelming performance? Timbaland with Nelly Furtado and Say So (a new female protege)…it paid a slight tribute to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”…V star, Morena Baccarin and FlashForward star, Dominic Monaghan introduced Green Day…I like “21 Guns”…however, when you look at the landscape of pop music today, Green Day sort of looks out of place, not to mention Kings of Leon, who were nominated for multiple awards, including Artist of the Year…well, after Jay-Z took the Rap/Hip-Hop Male award…Ryan Seacrest presented the Artist of the Year award to Taylor Swift in London…again, I’m sick of her “shocked” face!…well, Taylor should have reserved her shocked expression for what happened next, Adam Lambert!…Rolling Stone did a follow up story on Lambert’s crazy, sex-fueled performance of “For Your Entertainment”…apparently, ABC pulled the simulated oral sex move with the guy, you know, Glambert shoved the guy’s face into his crotch?…from the West coast broadcast…but they didn’t remove the moment when Lambert grabbed his “straight” keyboard player for a deep throat session…here’s one quote from Lambert from the Rolling Stone blurb:
“Adrenaline is crazy and sometimes things just happen,” said Lambert after the show. “We had this great dance number totally staged. It’s a sexy song about seduction and power and I was just doing the lyrics justice. My intention was not to try and create a controversy. But if a controversy ensues, then so be it.”

I think we will end on that note….oh yeah, buy Adam Lambert’s For Your Entertainment and Lady GaGa’s The Fame Monster today or sometime this week!…I’ll be buying my copies Tuesday!…I’m pumped!

Later!

Project Runway: Season Finale…

Well, here we are…the end of a very long road to crown the sixth winner of Project Runway…as I’ve said before, this is the last season I will blog about…the show has jumped the shark and it has lost its edge…

9:01pm: Carol Hannah is still very sick…Irina “there’s nothing I can do to help her…”–ya think?…Irina better NOT win…CH is so pitiful, Christopher is comforting her and he’s helping her out…he was good for something after all…I’m still disappointed he screwed up those last few challenges…

9:04pm: Why there’s Collier Strong….nap time…..I’ve never seen this hair dude….Irina is being very picky; God help Gordana…Althea’s hat is a nod to her tailor Logan…maybe?….she looks stupid is what I’m trying to say…Althea and Irina have similar 13th looks…this drama is boring…

9:08pm: Okay, there was a short scene of the girls getting ready to go out…they must have left at the crack of dawn…I know how that feels…

9:14pm: A “Fa-La-La-La Lifetime” promo featuring Tim Gunn just ran…you see what I mean???…why Bravo why?!?…Irina has to take over for Gordana “we have like no time left”….I hope her line is crap…the girls wake up at 3:14AM to get ready, go to Bryant Park, get everything prepped…I forgot the Project Runway runway show is an early morning one…

9:18pm: Tim is not happy about the models not being ready for the show…”I am about to lose it!”…Tim angry is not much different from Tim horrified…

9:24pm: Mass chaos!…Heidi in a pink suit…I believe we have Althea up first…guest judge–Suzy Menkes??? Althea is first…I’m not liking the headbands…overall?…boring…

9:28pm: Carol Hannah next…oh, please be good!…so much better, colors are very diverse…all her pants look good…love the dresses…OMG!…Malvin made it to the show!

9:30pm: Irina’s “New York” collection…gag me!…the hats are scaring me…some of the sweaters, outerwear are nice…ah, I get it…Grace Jones wear!!!…

9:34pm: OMG!..they just got a comment from Ari Fish…oh, I’m glad that didn’t work out…

9:39pm: Mom thinks Irina will win, I say Carol Hannah…Althea doesn’t have a shot at all….but you never know…Michael on Irina–“we’ve seen the ‘Warrior Woman’ before”…Heidi really likes it…Nina doesn’t like all the black…

9:42pm: Carol Hannah played with volume and structure…Heidi liked the 13th look…there’s a problem with cohesiveness…

9:43pm: Althea…Michael–“bravo for sportswear!”…I can see his point…separates work…this British bird is getting on my nerves…where did they dig her up???….Heidi liked all the designers’ 13th looks…

9:48pm: According to the judges’ comments, it’s anyone’s game…Nina was more sure than Michael who the winner should be…will there be a reunion show?…I don’t think so…so no “fan favorite”????

9:55pm: SEASON 7 PREMIERES JANUARY 14?!?….OH HELL NO!…here we go…..who knows?…CH auf’d!…NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!…that makes me sad, she was good, she went through so much there at the end…not fair!

9:57pm: The winner????….IRINA!!!!….I’m NOT happy…no more PR blogs my friends…this is it!….I’ll have another show to breakdown….

Any suggestions????…..Peace!

Adam Lambert Overload?…HELL YES!

Adam Lambert OUT 100
OMG!…Right now, I am streaming FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT, thanks to iLike!!!…I love what I’ve heard so far; it’s so much better when you can hear the tracks in their entirety…November 23 can’t get here fast enough, which by the way, I went to Best Buy’s website yesterday to browse for HDTVs, and I looked up the price on FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT?…$9.99!!!!…talk about the possibility of selling millions of records, there you have it!…on the downside, Best Buy has Lady GaGa’s THE FAME MONSTER priced at $13.99…boo!…however, if my calculations are correct, I should have just enough for Lambert, GaGa, AND Mika’s new one I never got around to buying…call it an early Christmas…an early gay Christmas!…and get this, as soon as I went to write this blog, Yahoo! had this headline up: “Do Lambert’s Reps Worry He’s ‘Too Gay’?”…I kid you not!…apparently, OUT magazine, which just named Lambert as its “Breakout Star of the Year”, has said Lambert’s reps “were a little skittish about their star client being featured in a gay publication.”…ARE YOU KIDDING ME????…hey, I know being gay isn’t the biggest selling point for anything, but you have got to give Adam Lambert more credit, he’s freakin’ talented!!!!…his choice to go with an over-the-top album cover is bold, yet, brave and really, who cares?…true fans can overlook the gloss, give me a break!

I can’t remember the last time I was this excited for an album release…sure, I have to buy every k.d. lang album the day it comes out, but who doesn’t?…so, check out iLike today, since I’m not sure if this streaming will continue over the course of this week….HALLELUJAH!

"Let’s hit the Lob!"

http://www.hulu.com/embed/5PkU8BigH8aUyB1kryaCWg
Well, as usual, SNL was not very funny this weekend thanks to stiff host and MAD MEN star, January Jones…however, Kristen Wiig shined the brightest, although these days, even I’ll admit, I get a little annoyed when she’s in too many skits…that wasn’t the case this past Saturday…not too much, just enough…the skit called “Around the Town” is vintage Wiig…she plays a reporter who is a little too open about her feelings for Jones’ DQ worker-turned-hero…observe above!

and Happy Monday!

Project Runway: Finale, Part One…

I would rather be relaxing right now, but I swore to see this season of Project Runway to the end…so here we are, part one of the season finale, shot at the beginning of 2009…

9:01pm: Designers will get $9,000 for materials for 12-look collection…I just saw Heidi and Tim in the Project Runway silhouette bumping and grinding…Oh wow!…another fail for Lifetime…

9:03pm: Tim checks in on Carol Hannah first…her inspiration?…Duke University’s campus…she made pants! which she did not do in the course of the competition…as far as personality, she’s my favorite…Tim is going to make biscuits, in his suit!!!, her family is adorable…

9:07pm: Next, Irina, this season’s mega-bitch…yawn!…her collection, “a thank you to New York”…she’s had some great pieces; she’s just overconfident to the hilt…Tim gets to meet Irina’s family, she immigrated from the Republic of Georgia…Tim–“{no matter the outcome} Irina is already a winner”…her father hasn’t always been supportive…

9:17pm: Last, Althea…I’ll always love Tim Gunn–“Eegads!”…she is inspired by strong women in sci-fi movies…too costumey and too matronly…she has surprised me more than anyone, well, besides Carol Hannah…seeing all this snow is refreshing, but God I hope we don’t see another ice storm…Ohio to Bryant Park…

9:22pm: Irina will NOT be able to use the Coney Island tee shirts in her collection, the images are trademarked…she can use her own images…Althea and Irina are reunited…weakest rivalry ever…the tension builds, again, yawn!…

(Can’t wait to see NINE!)

9:30pm: Carol Hannah has not showed…a contagious stomach virus!…Heidi sends the girls champagne…it’s the first time someone has been sick before anything on the show…Carol Hannah’s collection is there…Irina pronounces it Carol “Honnah”…it gets on my nerves…

9:34pm: Tim checks the progress of all the collections…Carol Hannah is there now, poor thing…Tim on one of Althea’s pieces, “Hillary Clinton”…the whole “you copied me” controversy rolls on…boring!…CH’s simplicity may rule the day…what happened with Irina’s t-shirts???…she has a lot of black, blah!…she designed shirts around what she was originally going to use….

(OOOh, it’s almost time for Fa-La-La-La-Lifetime!)

9:43pm: Model casting…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…. Althea is a giant lady!…Nina and Michael show up…I guess they owe it to the designers since they haven’t been around a lot this season…”tips and pointers”…Mom thinks Nina is not as “hard-looking” this season…LOL!…the all-black collection may not work…Irina disagrees…

9:47pm: I just remembered, these last two episodes are very boring, at least until the runway show…each designer’s model is trying on the collections…oh, it’s Heidi!…whoopee!…”one more surprise”

9:53pm: Designers have to create one more look…wow, I haven’t seen that before…and bring back the recently auf’d designers to help…snoozefest!…Althea picks Logan, Irina picks Gordana, CH gets Christopher…Mood NYC, good to see you again…

9:57pm: I can’t believe Irina picked Gordana, I didn’t think they got along this season…Carol Hannah is having a relapse!!!…drama!

Finale: CH is still not well:(…can’t wait ’til this bitch is over!

G’night!

Re-thinking the Ellen Haircut…

I expressed on Monday how I think I would like Ellen’s haircut…a pixie style with a lot of product in it…I know I probably couldn’t look more gay, but this cut would solidify it!…like Ellen, it’s fun and I’m fun damnit!…and since I declared my desire, I’ve had many comments saying things like, “go for it!” “do it!” “I love Ellen’s hair!”…however, this morning, my mother brought me back down to earth with this statement-“I think your head is too small.”….WTF?!?…I know I have a small head, but the lift and the faux hawk-like effect would deter people away from that fact…Also, I think I’m going to wait a while, since showing up for Thanksgiving with this haircut may scare some relatives who I pray by now can figure me out!!!…we shall see…I need a change and this is a change I could believe in…

Thank you….and thank you veterans-past, present, and future!
