In The Battle of Glee vs. Modern Family….

The Emmys chose, well, the better show….the show that has brought back what a comedy series is…it’s too bad Glee doesn’t really fall into either Comedy or Drama….Variety????..both Modern Family and Glee walked away from last night’s Primetime Emmy Awards with 5 apiece…I know Jane Lynch took home the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series trophy was no shocker, but when Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet captured Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, splitting the 3-way tie with his fellow cast members, Ty Burrell and a weeping Jesse Tyler Ferguson, I knew MF had a legitimate shot at the taking home Best Comedy Series, and they did!!!…
Before any of the fireworks and the Temple Grandin takeover, the Emmy opening may have been the best ever!
I was certain Glee had all the momentum in the world to win big after the opening number…I was laughing my ass off when Kate Gosselin was dissed!…and is there anything Tina Fey can’t do?…last night was the first time I watched the entire Emmys show….and yes, 5 Emmys went to the HBO original film, Temple Grandin…and Temple was there for all the world to see…what I don’t get is why no one knew who she was until after last night’s broadcast…I loved the movie, and I looked up Temple Grandin around the time the movie debuted on HBO, so I wasn’t in the dark…I was probably more shocked Claire Danes was finally validated and she won her first Emmy portraying such a unique woman….of course I made the joke that the real Temple Grandin’s fashion style evoked a familiar face:
Sorry, I had to go for it…congratulations to everyone on their Emmy victories!

Sex and Violence and Lots O’ Blood!

I was just alerted to the newest Rolling Stone cover and oh my!!!!…yes, I had one of my mini-Tourette’s moments when I saw it…there’s no doubt True Blood is back and it is definitely better than last season…and it’s been very, very bloody for the last few episodes…the carnage is what I’m sure chases away the Emmy voters–FYI…the Emmys are a week from this Sunday–but heck, this year’s Best Drama Series nomination is based on season 2, which wasn’t totally a snooze, but it wasn’t great either…season 3 has amped up everything..from new creatures to lots of gay moments…and I mean really gay…I won’t give anything away for those of you who still haven’t joined the fang banger band wagon…and you must join NOW!…of course it would help to catch up on the first two seasons…I’m not sure how helpful Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels would be either…I’ve been told they omit at least 2 major characters, I won’t say who…I really need to get back into a reading kick and check the novels out…anyway, the magazine is cover HAWT! HOT, both you see…I’m very glad and I thank God I subscribe to Rolling Stone…OH Sookie! (and Anna Paquin)

(Unofficially) J-Lo a No-Go!

I guess it’s a good thing Fox hasn’t made an official announcement concerning all the changes that are being made to American Idol, because one new judge, is already gone!…reports are breaking this afternoon that Jennifer Lopez will not be a judge this upcoming season due to her diva demands from the network…and Fox has reportedly already had enough…I’m not surprised, but I’m also curious as to why J-Lo would squander this incredible opportunity to put her name back on the map…Apparently she still thinks she’s big enough to be a diva and Fox has put her in her place…good for them!…As for the other rumored judge joining Randy Jackson, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, a story said his deal to become a judge is “a work in progress”…so, what names are still on the table?…one name that is not on the table is Paula Abdul…since she’s starting her new dance competition/mentoring show on CBS soon, she can’t break that contract to run back to Idol…which sucks, but I think her new show may have a shot at success…the Idol drama is turning out to be a galactic PR nightmare for Fox, who desperately needs to revamp their one-time cash cow…one definite person who is back on board is Nigel Lythgoe, beyond that?…anyone’s guess…

First Look at Burlesque…

I just found the “exclusive trailer” for Burlesque…you know…Cher, Christina Aguilera, and I think I saw McSteamy…it’s due in theaters on Thanksgiving…and I just don’t know…I guess it’s not a run-of-the-mill musical, but it has tones of Chicago, Cabaret, and Nine….unfortunately, I also see hints of Showgirls…YIKES!…it’s a crap shoot, but I might just take a chance and see it…see the trailer:
